| Introduction | Dr Samuel Chindaro was born and grew up in Chinhoyi, and attended Chinhoyi Primary School, and Chinhoyi High School.He then went to the National University of Science and Technology obtaining a B. Eng .Hons in Electronic Eng. He worked for CADTEK Eng in Harare, as a Project Engineer, working on instrumentation and control projects. He went on to obtain an MSc in Electronics and Information Technology at the University of Birmingham and a PhD in Electronic Engineering at the University of Kent, specialising in Computer Vision and Image Processing. He has worked on a number of projects as a research associate at the University of Kent; among them a 3-year EU multi-national project on Biometrics as the team leader of the University of Kent travelling extensively in Europe. Dr Chindaro takes great interest in the utilisation of Diaspora resources for the development of his home country. He is a board member of the Zimbabwe Diaspora Development Interface. He is also invloved in Charity work, and is a founder member of the Southern Africa AIDS Foundation |
