Introduction	I'm a Canadian living in the Japanese countryside close to Hiroshima. I grew up in the small town of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island off the West Coast of Canada, came to Japan on an exchange program when I was 15, then again to teach English after university. After detours to Sweden, Russia, and The Czech Republic, I ended up marrying an architect and moving back to a small town in the Japanese countryside. While occasionally rendered immobile by cross-cultural angst and a healthy does of homesickness for the West Coast outdoor lifestyle, I pretty much love it here and feel like I am going home no matter which direction the plane is headed. This blog will be about everyday life in the Japanese countryside, food and photos, and I hope will also share my perspective on cross-cultural issues that come up. I promise not to vent t0o much but to attempt at genunine insight! I really look forward to your feedback and comments...
