Introduction Catherine S. Vodrey is the author of three books: A CENTENNIAL HISTORY OF THE HALL CHINA COMPANY; THE SQUANDERED GREEN; and LEAP TO TRACK. All are available on Amazon. Vodrey served as food editor of COUNTRY DECORATOR magazine from 1997 to 2001. From 1996 through 2004, she was a regular contributor to the food section of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. Vodrey's photographs, essays and recipes have been published in AMERICAN HERITAGE, BETTER HOMES & GARDENS, GOURMET, COUNTRY HOME, WEIGHT WATCHERS MAGAZINE, and COOKING PLEASURES. She is a contributing author to THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF APPALACHIA, a first-of-its-kind reference work, and to the cookbook THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC FAVORITE COOKIES. Her most recent publication of note was inclusion in the 2010 publication of Carnegie Mellon University's literary journal, OAKLAND REVIEW. She was one of only fourteen Carnegie Mellon alumnae to be included in this volume. Vodrey lives deep in the woods of eastern Ohio with her family. She is at work on her fourth book.
