| Introduction | Born in Washington, DC, I came into the world in 1946 on the front lines of the post-war baby boom. I spent 17 years writing for a publication of the American Civil Liberties Union. For The Box from Braunau, I interviewed family members, soldiers and concentration camp survivors, and traveled to Austria for the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the camp. |
