Introduction	Tales and Pictures of Kayaking on Penobscot Bay and River. It's an incredible, beautiful world! To encourage everyone to get out and enjoy it, I am posting tales and pictures from my own adventures. As paddling places in Maine go, it is hard to beat the Penobscot River. It is sheltered in most storms, opens early and does not ice over until December. Best of all, it is one of those rare locations where you can kayak in shade. And truly, it is never the same river twice.
