Introduction	I'm a 34 yr old woman living on the West Coast of US. I was living the free and footloose life of a single woman until 30. Then I got married, started getting responsible and all hell broke loose. Almost at the same time, we started trying to have kids, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis, they discovered several uterine fibroids and I found out that my ovarian reserve was running low. After lots of hand wringing, OPKs, BBT-taking, naturopathic treatments, yoga, all of which were leading nowhere, we decided to bite the bullet and do 2 things: a) Undergo a full abdominal surgery to get rid of the fibroids and endo. b) Go in for IVF. IVF has been a crazy ride by itself, with each day bringing and dashing hope anew. I suppose the worst part is how little control I had once we started the protocol. The reproductive system has a mind of its own and a very capricious one at that. So anyway, we survived the needles and chemicals and shameless toying with nature and we found out I was pregnant on Oct 5. That phone call from the nurse will forever stay etched in my memory. I've had one ultrasound so far at 7.7 wks, on Oct 26. Now you are as caught up with my life as me.
