| Introduction | My name is Mary, aka "YiaYia". I enjoy writing poetry. My first book "From YiaYia, With Love - Poetry for Young Children" is now published and available on Amazon.com - search by title or http://amzn.com/0615670792. I am forever composing and rhyming in my mind. Having been a preschool teacher, I can say I find children to be a wealth of knowledge! My own four grandchildren have influenced my poems of late. My poems are geared to the preschool age child. My aim is to share these poems with those who will read them to their children; to laugh with them, help them learn, and help parents understand them and let them be themselves. My Greek heritage being near and dear to me, I prefer my grandchildren call me YiaYia - it means Grandmother in Greek. To L, N, O and A, I love you and enjoy you so much! xo |
