| Introduction | I was born and raised in a small town in the south. I learned to cook as a child and loved it, probably due to the fact that I love to eat. However as a child I was restricted in what I was allowed to eat by what my daddy saw as edible food. In other words if daddy didn't like then it wasn't fit for human consumption. Thus, any fish other than flounder wasn't deemed edible, nor were brusslespouts, horseradish, and various other normal and delish foods. As a teen I got to explore the culinary world due in part to an aunt who also had a love of food, and shared with me all her new findings, took me along on her trips, and exposed me to things daddy deemed unedible. Then later I married my high school sweetheart who happen to be a yankee transplant. He and his family opened more doors with dishes that seemed as foreign to me as those of another world. Now he and I live in our redneck plot of land, but we desire wonderful interesting foods. We search out delish cheeses, and unique fruits and veggies. My hubby loves spicey dishes, so i have learned to make intense salsas and spice mixes. |
