| Introduction | I'm a primitive folk artist and avid gardener, and my home and heart can be found in New England. My favorite things to create are pincushions, make-dos, and needful things with a purpose rather than purely decorative objects. I prefer working with worn old woolens and cottons. Chippy old architectural pieces make my prim heart sing. I try to incorporate them into my work as often as possible. I find inspiration in objects from nature, my gardens, and animals, and by things discovered during my junking excursions. Sometimes textures or colors inspire me. I keep several files of drawings and templates, organized by holiday and by season or purpose. On the rare occasion that I feel uninspired I refer to these. |
