IntroductionI am an activist, policy analyst and journalist with a Metis background. I am interested in indigenous issues, with an orientation towards a classical liberal perspective. Like anyone else, indigenous people have individual rights of self-ownership that cannot be taken away by any government, indigenous or otherwise. I support self-government for First Nations, but believe this must be accompanied with economic self-sufficiency to be meaningful and will require figuring out the balance between individual rights and collective rights. I am not a yes-person who only posts people who agree with me, but I am not interested in posts that show evidence of not being genuinely interested in real debate. I will have to make that call. I am also not interested in indigenous identity politics, as in who is more of a real "Indian" than others. Otherwise, please enjoy the site. The opinions are solely my own.
