| Introduction | Masha is a professional grade II instructor pilot and Derek is a regular pilot who does 'this and that' when he's not flying. They share a love and respect for the forces of gravity and their experimental art is based on thrill, boredom and creating a mess. They met in Jo'burg and operate from Lanseria Airport where Masha taught Derek to fly. Not as easy as riding a bike, this took many hours during which time they became friends. The Gravity Art idea was born whilst doing a space walk with a paint ti... no wait that's not it! They both love the moment in flight when Newton's laws collide through aerobatic moves that pin you to your seat, double your weight and move your stomach to your chest. It's like a roller coaster with no tracks and what you do next defines the experience. Gravity Art was designed as a visual means to record the experience of human interaction with the forces, the moment and the freedom of our planet's natural sticky phenomenon.
