Introduction	The "mistral" is a cold and generally dry wind in France. It blows fast and hard, but quiets at night. When it blows through, it is known for creating clear skies and brilliant sunshine in some areas, blustery, storm laden clouds in others. It is considered a beneficial wind, with many facets depending upon the region.
