| Introduction | I am in my mid 50's (oh does age matter?) and have decided to try a new outlet... for mental health and well being. The new 'outlet' is fine ART. I had no formal training initially but have been taking lessons most recently. Still, I consider myself a beginner. My background is science, i.e. Mechanical Engineering (pneumatics design) and before that Cytotechnology. (HA look it up!) Hardly "arty" fields and neither easily lending themselves toward fine art. So this is a right turn for me... onto another Avenue... and a full brain switch. I'm learning to 'see' things differently... SHADED... not the black-n-white of science but the COLORS, the SHAPES and the inter-relatedness of those... the VALUES, to find out just what makes art ART? |
