Introduction	PLH is a group of concerned citizens in East Haddam, Connecticut dedicated to saving the Landing Hill area from the fragmentation that would result from development of residential homes in the area. Offering a variety of beautiful terrain and habitat, we believe the Landing Hill area is unique and worthy of preservation. We are deeply concerned with the impact of current regulations and the difficulty in preserving important habitat in town. Extensive wetland and moist upland terrain support diverse plant and wildlife species throughout this area. Community preserves are suggested as a positive alternative to residential development: contiguous open space managed as a wildlife habitat. Preserves do not add to the tax burden of the town the way single family homes do. With the existing power lines bisecting the Landing Hill area, the various habitats comprised by the area have access to the most important wildlife corridor in town.
