| Introduction | Rick’s life • 1944 Born in Edmonton, Canada • 1945-1966 Raised and schooled in Edmonton • 1966-1978 Hired by IBM, moved to Ottawa, worked in Eastern Canada, Europe, US ending at the IBM Lab in Don Mills, Ontario • 1978 Moved to Vancouver, started Human Action to Limit Taxes • 1982 folded up HALT – went broke and had to get a day job • 1983 emigrated to Sydney, Australia • 1985-1990 raised family, consulted in IT industry in Sydney, became Aussie citizen. • 1990 started own business with wife Heather and couple of local blokes • 1990-2002 ran business, continued to raise family, many trips back to Canada • 2002 sold business, went back to consulting • 2003-2007 continue to consult to IT industry • 2005 bought property with friends (2 couples) north of Sydney, plan to build “retirement” base camp there in 2009 • 2008 – March, Rick and Heather retire, change life styles, go on round the world trip, spend summer 2008 in Canada. • 2009-2044 – not perfectly clear yet. I'll have to think about this. |
