| Introduction | I am a Civil Engineer and an Academician from Saint Louis College. Over the years, I have designed, built and acted as project consultant to medium-rise buildings and more recently, high-rise structures. My passion includes computer programming, Matrix Structural Analysis and Finite Element Method which led me to author a book on Computer-Aided Structural Analysis (Matrix Method). My enthusiasm and fervor to learn more about these subjects kept me for over six years at my post as Civil Engineering professor. Grudgingly, I moved to the manufacturing and construction industry which offered a better remuneration for my growing family. I was lucky to have headed and managed the R&D Department of two Precast Concrete companies in the Philippines. There, I honed my expertise in Precast, Prestressed and Post-Tensioned Concrete technology. I was also given the break to manage a Ready-Mix Concrete Operation and Quality Control, thus keeping me abreast with its state-of-the-art. Presently, I work as a Senior Structural Engineer being the Lead Structural Designer for ARC International Consultants in Dubai, the UAE. Concurrently, I enjoy being the moderator and webmaster for this blogsite. |
