| Introduction | Bio - Jonathan is married to Janie - a woman who rarely says never. In fact, in her whole life she has only said it three times. I will never marry Jonathan Martin. I will never go to “a certain Asian Country”. I will never minister to Muslims. She said none of these things in defiance but just matter of factly - "Why would I?" Guess what - Jonathan and Janie and their three kids have spent 10 years in this “certain Asian country” and the last seven of the ten were working with Muslims. Amazingly Janie embraced each one as a gift from God. Janie had one other "never" - but she never dared to say it. She never wanted to be a pastor's wife. Well you guessed it. Evidently the Lord heard her thinking it - because four years ago He brought the family to oversee the Global Outreach Ministry at Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring Oregon where many staff from their Church have been sent out and are presently living and serving in nearly 20 countries on every continent around the world (not Anarctica ... yet.) Nearly 800 from the congregation have also been sent on short term teams. |
