| Introduction | Even as a young child I had a deep desire to draw and paint. All throughout elementary, middle, and senior high school I excelled in all of my art classes. I later attended our local Fine Arts Academy and college in Baton Rouge,LA, with a focus in art, art history, and English. I have taken private lessons and workshops from several talented artists in LA, TX, and AL. I continue to take art classes, always staying open to new ideas. We can learn something new from anyone! I have worked with charcoal, graphite and colored pencils, pen and ink, and various pastels, although preferring animal portraits in oils. I sometimes "get out of the box" and enjoy painting with heavy impasto, creating abstracts, and collages that seem to give my paint brushes the freedom to pull me toward each new creation. My work is probably the most relaxing part of my life, and I am so glad to be back doing what I love! I believe a painting is in everything around us. We just have to look for what is truly there! |
