| Introduction | Kwéleches, Hello, My name is Katherine Ritchie. Since 1995 I have gratefully lived on unseeded Coast Salish Territories and feel a very strong spiritual connection to this land. I respectfully use the language of Halq'eméylem, language of the First Nations peoples of southeastern Vancouver Island. It is my pleasure to coordinate the ISWS listserve and blog to connect Indigenous Social Work students, and also to promote your engagement beyond the classroom. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Social Work & a Master Degree in Education, dept. of Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Victoria. In addition to my work with ISWEN, I am also the Co-Coordinator at Fostering Education: For youth in care and former youth in care. The goal of FE is to support post-secondary funding opportunities for YiC/ former YiC in BC. Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions. Contact me by e-mail at: iswstudents@gmail.com fosteringeducationbc@gmail.com Thank you for your dedication to supporting the well-being of others. In friendship, Katherine Ritchie, BSW, MA Ed. |
