Gender Male
Location Sydney, Australia
Introduction I am an author of suspense/thriller novels and short stories and this blog, my take (it-or-leave-it) on writing, publishing and pop culture which is labelled a "must read" by my neighbour, Buggeroff. He's from one of those countries that haven't learned the value of vowels yet. So he was very grateful when I offered to anglicize his name. Bgrvypsnmiovski is too much of a mouthful for anyone. He thinks it's cool that he knows a writer, and he asks me daily whether I've sold any movie rights (I haven't, and it's none of his business anyway.) My short fiction has been published by magazines in England, North America, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Australia and New Zealand and translated into three languages. My novel, 'The Delta Chain,' was a Quarterfinalist in the 2009 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and is available now. Buggeroff wants to know if he can review it for the staff newsletter where he works. (I'm thinking about it.) I'm currently working on a new novel and a letter to the local council, complaining about Buggeroff's habit of playing full volume heavy metal after midnight.
Interests Writing, publishing, books, film, music, cappuccinos, political analysis (for the laughs), rags-to-riches stories (they're inspiring), riches-back-to-rags stories (oh well, if at first you don't succeed...)
Favorite Movies Casablanca, Rear Window, The Fugitive, Jaws, The Truman Show, the Bourne films, the Back To The Future trilogy, Minority Report, Heat, The Usual Suspects, Jurassic Park (for starters)
Favorite Books Just a few favourites that inspired me with their storytelling: Endless Night, The Magus, The Day Of The Triffids, The Count Of Monte Cristo, The Day After Tomorrow, The Pillars Of The Earth, the books of Michael Crichton, Clifford Simak, David Morrell, Robert Ludlum, Stephen King, HG Wells, Clare Francis, Daphne Du Maurier.
