| Introduction | I am the rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Rochester, NY. My arrival at St. Stephen's began as an experiment in cooperative ministry. In 2007 St. Stephen’s joined the Church of St. Luke & St. Simon Cyrene in a covenantal relationship that we all hoped would produce more vibrant ministry in the city. It was an experiment that has paid many benefits to both churches, to the diocese and to our city. I have lived in Rochester since 2001 and have come to love this city, especially the 19th Ward neighborhood where St. Stephen’s is located. I value the commitment to urban mission and inclusivity that is a hallmark of our parish. I share my life with my life partner, Nancy, our daughter Hannah, and our dog and cat. After 25 years together, Nancy and I went to New Hampshire to be married in 2011. We had our marriage blessed at St. Stephen’s that summer. I love digging in my gardens and spending time playing my dulcimer, and of course, no day is complete without some time to play with my daughter. |
