| Introduction | Born in Kampong Kundur, Rembau, Negeri Sembilan in 1952. Currently he is the CEO of Ahsania-Malaysia Hajj Investment and Finance Company Limited, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Obtained his first degree in Economics from UM in 1975. Obtained masters and PHD in the same field from the University of Wisconsin, USA on BNM scholarship. He served BNM for 18 years. Previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Hajj and Umrah Corporation (Labuan) Limited, CEO, Golden Pharos Berhad, Director, Islamic Banking Scheme and Special Project, Abrar Discount Berhad, CEO, Abrar Finance Berhad, part-time lecturer on financial markets and institutions at the University of Malaya and board member of several companies. Areas of expertise included regulation of financial institutions, formulation and implementation of monetary, fiscal and economic policies, liquidity management, Islamic banking and finance and developing business strategies. Writes regularly on economic issues and presents papers in economic seminars. Current research interest is on the return of Gold Dinar as the currency of the Islamic World. 21 July 2007 |
