| Introduction | Salutations! I am Blake Matthews, aka The Good Doctor. A long-time fan of martial arts movies (30 years and going strong), I also moonlight as an author on the subject. This blog will be the fourth incarnation of my original site, "It's a Beautiful Film Worth Fighting For". It was born in 2004 at Geocities as a way to review underappreciated kung fu and monster movies. I stopped updating in 2006 in order to start my first book. I then revived it in 2009 as an affiliate of the now-defunct Cold Fusion Video. That lasted until 2013 when an epic server crash destroyed all of Cold Fusion's content. I brought it back to life briefly in 2013, but then decided to stop for a time. Now I'm back...and with a vengeance. I have a backlog of over 400 reviews to post, plus more to come. Enjoy! |
