| Introduction | I recently retired from teaching high-school English and special education. I am 60 and have been married for 25 years to Gloria Megan, who is an artist (watercolor and clay sculpture) and upper-division psychology student. We have four grown children, the youngest of whom, Timothy, lives with us. He is 22 and a highly intelligent autistic person. I have been writing poetry for 45 years and have studied under Robert Watson, the late Stan Rice, and a number of other poet-scholars. I am currently flogging myself to write my first novel, which is like wading through cold molasses. |
