About me

Introduction I'm addicted to making things, but in the past I would get upset over even the tiniest of imperfections (as I saw them). One of the difficult lessons I have had to learn is that making something (whether sewing, baking or anything else) cannot be about striving for perfection. Now when I attempt to make anything, I try to embrace the philosophy “not perfect, but good enough”. I’m learning that “good enough” does not mean sub-standard. I’m recognizing that the imperfections that in the past would get me upset and frustrated are what give these items their homemade character. And I’m learning to take pride in my successes, however rough around the edges they may be. To look at what I have done and appreciate the time and effort I have given it. In being kinder to myself in this way, the process of creating has become something to enjoy again. I hope that in browsing my efforts you will be inspired to have a go at making something. And please share – I’d love to hear from you.
