IntroductionI love to see live music and I like to relate the experience. I am no expert, I am just a regular joe who likes live music and writes about it. My first concert was Jimi Hendrix at the Spokane Coliseum in 1968. Jimi found that the very high note he plays on Voodoo Child made the whole building vibrate...he made the most out of it by holding that note until I thought the building would collapse. I was hooked, been seeing live music since. I have seen Elvis, The Who, David Bowie, Deep Purple, and Pink Floyd. I saw Led Zeppelin, Santana, The Doors, Bo Diddley, Ike and Tina Turner, The Byrds, Gram Parsons and The Flying Burrito Brothers, Vanilla Fudge, It's a Beautiful Day, Chicago Transit Authority, Ten Years After and Alice Cooper on the same stage. I lived throughout the punk years and heard the best of the West Coast scene: Black Flag, Dead Kennedy's, Suburban Lawn, The Dickies, X, The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, Rik, L. Rik, and Top Jimmy and the Rhythm Pigs. I am now seeing the seeds of future great bands; the clubs of any city are the breeding ground for the next Led Zep. I hope that some of these stories will inspire you to see live music soon.
InterestsI am a big fan and occasional guest host on Shake the Shack KEXP 90.3 Fridays at 9pm Seattle's own Rockabilly Show now in it's 25th year; featuring Doctor Leon Berman.
