| Introduction | I am a liberal, lesbian mom and proud Pagan who has worked for a plethora of faith based organizations and still have kept my sanity. I run a homeless women's drop in center and night shelter and am a part-time college professor. I've been clean and sober for 21 years. My mood swings give me exercise that medication manages at times. I used to weigh 340 lbs but changed my life through weight loss surgery. My life is an evolution. I share custody of my 4 year-old son. He is my light even though he thinks he is Scooby Doo and that Goofy is his brother. My girlfriend touches me mind, body, and spiritually. She teases me with thoughts of marriage in reality, she just wants the wedding cake and I want the party. SISU is tattooed on my shin and is Finland's national motto loosely translated to mean "good guts, honor, and perserverence." It serves me well. |
