| Introduction | My wife Corliss passed away from colon cancer in 2003. We have 2 daughters, Zoë, age 15 and Lexi, age 11. We started our bbq team in 2005. One of our goals is to cook in as many states as we can! So far we have competed in 37 states and hope to add another 4 new states this year to our total. We also started a 501c3 foundation in Corliss' memory and we donate all profits that we might win from BBQ competitions to the foundation for cancer research and to assist those that are affected by cancer. To date, the foundation has raised almost $300k for these causes. We've also had some success competing in BBQ contests. We won the Jack Daniel's World Championship in 2006 and in 2008 our team finished in 8th place in Team of the Year standings for the KCBS. We like to travel all over the US, so you might see the Cancer Sucks! banner at a contest by you. |
