| Introduction | I grew up on oven chips and chocolate in an indescriptive town with green fields and a permanent drizzle, where the teachers told us that the world was our oyster. With the innocence of youth, on finishing university I came to look for work in Spain. Now I’ve been here almost forever, but my English accent is a total give-away, like any good “guiri” I’m mad about patatas bravas, and I fall in love with the drop-dead blue skies of Barcelona every single day. I still eat chocolate (Cadburys, of course) and there is NOTHING like British wit to give me a stomach-ripping laugh. As for The Inglesita.. as a 13-year old cowering in the back row of the French class, I'd never have imagined that languages would become my passion or my craft, but hey, that's the fun of the unexpected :-) The Inglesita is for word-lovers, English-lovers or anyone who’s ever wondered “what on earth does THAT mean?!” cath@catherinemarys.com |
