| Introduction | This is the story of our little Areli Rose. She is the youngest in our family of 4 with an older sister Leilani (Lani). Areli has been dealt an unfortunate hand early in her life and we started on a journey to a diagnosis. At 8 weeks old she was hospitalized for unknown origin of jaundice and mulitiple tests and biopsies led us to a diagnosis at 9 months old of Complex III Deficincy Mitochondrial Disease, an incurable, progressive, often fatal disease. So far Areli has risen up to the challenges of her disease. We are here to raise awarness of mito, share our story and do what we can to help find a cure!
