| Introduction | In September of 2011 we started our 2nd Great Loop trip. Our trip has taken us from Lake Michigan south to the Gulf of Mexico, then along both coasts of Florida, and up the eastern seaboard to Norfolk, VA. Here we left the Marco Polo II with plans to continue the trip during the middle of June. However heart surgery, quadruple bypass, changed our plans. During the summer of 2013 we returned to Portsmouth VA to resume our trip. Our trip was to take us along the East Coast to New York and then via the Erie Canal to Lake Ontario and back to the Great Lakes. However this did not work out. The Erie Canal was closed due to flooding problems. The only alternative was to continue into Canada via Lake Champlain and then via the St. Lawrence Seaway to Lake Ontario. Next came the lovely Trent Severn Canal which we followed to the Georgian Bay, We thought that we would soon be home. Here we are a year later and we are still trying to finish the Great Loop.
