Introduction I’m an art professor and licensed art educator. I consider teaching to be an art form in itself and a natural extension of my life. I hold an M. A. in Art & Design, a B.F.A. in Fine Arts and a K-12 Art Education degree. I have been teaching since 1992 in a variety of educational settings. Starting in 2002 I developed my own free-lance multi-cultural curriculum entitled “Art for Life” that specialized in contextual learning solutions for troubled youth. I later adapted ideas from this program for various art residencies, including environmental projects, and an IBM Enterprise Learning workshop applied to business planning and leadership styles. My current curriculum includes self-empowerment workshops that help participants visualize their professional and personal goals in life and creativity workshops designed to educate the imagination. Most recently I conducted college level workshops at the University of Colorado, UNC Pembroke, Roxboro Community College, NC and UCC Ireland. In 2015, having studied art in China over 30 years prior, I was invited as artist-in-residence to The China Academy of Art in Hang Zhou to teach Experimental “Digital Hybrid” Printmaking. -Alyssa
