| Introduction | My interest in collecting textiles arises out of the many years of missionary work in Asia such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Nagaland. Every year, for about 10 years, I would travel to these countries and live among the people. The common thread that seemed to weave all the cultures together is perhaps their rich textiles. Here is a personal blog about how I use Asian antique and exotic textiles to decorate my house and they remind me of the wonderful adventures I had. These textiles merge seamlessly with modern decor. Each piece is rich in history and tells a story behind them and reminds me of the many faces I met in my missionary journeys. It is fascinating as I research on the people who wear or use them. Textiles are not only a visual feast but you can also enjoy their tactile qualities. I hope this blog could spread the love of antique textiles and will give you some home decor ideas on how to make use of rich textiles to adorn your house in more ways than one! |
