| Introduction | Wayne is one of the more experienced cross country mountain bike riders in New Zealand. With nearly 20 years riding experience this includes national and international races. Attending 3 world championships, 3 world cups, numerous Oceania championships, and other international events. Winning his first national title as a junior, followed by Senior Men’s title, then Master 1 titles. Although never wining the pro elite title was a regular podium finisher and round winner. His passion and interest in Mountain Biking was sparked at the age of 15 when joining the collage mountain bike team. His interest in mountain bike racing and the culture and people involved in mountain biking was then set in stone. He loves mountain biking for the physical test and getting to ride through some of NZ’s best native bush and some unique locations which you would not know even existed if you weren’t into mountain biking. After retiring from international events, and having a young family, He now is focusing on local and national events that interest him. Encouraging and helping youth riders and sharing some of the experience he has gained |
