Introduction	The main reason for this blog is to discuss various circumstances that arise from being a Secondary Education English teacher within today's educational system. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York, but I have been living in the Denver Metropolitan area for the last 12 years. My post-high school education involved me jumping from college to college and major to major for eight years until I finally graduated from Queens College in Flushing, New York with a B.A. in English. Unfortunately, I worked in retail management for many years, yet five years ago I returned to school to in order to obtain a teaching license. This is now my third year teaching 9th and 10th grade English in Aurora, CO.
Interests	Writing, Reading, Hiking, Sports (both real and fantasy), Cooking, My Family
Favorite movies	I am a sucker for nostalgia so most of my favorite movies are from my childhood. A few that come to mind are Sunset Blvd, The original Indiana Jones and Star Wars trilogies, Jaws, Stand by Me and many more. More recent additions: The Shawshank Redemption, The Pianist, and The Departed.
Favorite music	I listen to most music except for classical, hardcore country, and gangsta rap.
Favorite books	Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Ender series, The Lovely Bones, All Quiet on the Western Front, Monster, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.
