| Introduction | There are many well known (even famous?) Alan Richardsons (academics,sportsmen, musicians, churchmen, businessmen); I am not one of those. I would describe myself at the moment as a once-upon-a-time hand brick maker, if I were what I do, however I am not what I do, think, say, write, read, paint, draw, play-act; I am not genes, nature or nurture. If mud is dirt plus water, what is clay?
Plastic stuff, the bane of gardeners, which hasn't yet become shale or slate. Hydrous aluminium silicates. Lovely stuff with which to make bricks.
