About me

Introduction I began teaching feature journalism and creative writing in the 90s and was course team leader at Richmond Adult College, west London, where I still teach. I started my career as a Conde Nast magazine Guest Editor (as in Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar), and first worked as a copywriter in fashion and beauty in New York and London. True love brought me to the UK where I became a freelance feature writer for women's magazines. This led to two self-help books published by Hodder. I've had short stories in QWF and haiku in Blithe Spirit. After 29,000 student hours of teaching I decided to share the gathered experience in Creative Writing: the Matrix, a practical book to support tutors and help them nurture their writing students.
