| Introduction | My knitting etc. blog get's its name from the label I created for children's aran garments I designed and handknit about 20 years ago - Coco's Mami. I was part of a crafts cooperative at the time The Christmas Store. Coco is my son's nickname, and Mami is Spanish for mommy. |

These days Boston-based movies such as Gone Baby Gone, The Departed, Mystic River, Fever Pitch, Good Will Hunting (these were the kind of guys I hung out with in my 20's)and the Perfect Storm for doing a pretty good job of capturing Gloucester, movies with authentic settings such as Local Hero, Braveheart (battle scenes were filmed on a golf course in Ireland), Rob Roy, The Secret of Roan Inish, Love Actually, The Diary of Bridget Jones, Into the West, Brazilian movies Black Orpheus,The Middle of the World, The Man Who Copied, City of God, among others |

Brazilian - Caetano Veloso, Irish traditional, Latin including Juan Luis Guerra, Ruben Blades, Puerto Rican bomba y plena, merengue (perico ripiao), alternative music favorites are The Frames, Swell Season, and Damien Rice. |
