Introduction Andrew Oldham was the first baby to be born in Bolton in 1975. At the age of 7 he was asked to write a story as part of a school test, he wrote it about Mars and has never looked back. His stories have featured in collections (‘Spanking the Monkey’ in Next Stop Hope) and his poetry has been broadcast on radio. His love all things SF, led him to champion writers on the internet and in the 90s he was amongst the first wave of UK writers to utilise the web for interactive tales, his first web story, Neuter, saw his work reach over one million people and was short-listed for trAce/Alt-X Hypertext Prize (1999), the text is now taught at several US Universities.
