| Introduction | Have a wonderful placid daughter, Gemma born in 1981 and a lovely energetic son, Joseph born in 1997. I should have had my children in reverse order, because as I was an older mum, found it difficult to play football etc - but he keeps me young! (Pity I don't look it though.......) In 2006 Moved from just outside London to Sussex and love it here! My roots are in Hertfordshire, but I don't miss it at all! Miss some special people though :'( |
| Interests | This is a photo of Belinda and me (I'll be on the left - the tarantula nestling in my hands!) Interests - loads! Reading, some swimming, country walking, cycling when in the mood, love mostly light rock music from all decades and from the 90's which I think is known as either Indie or Alternative now, but it all sounds good! Cooking when in the mood and when I have some time! A nice bottle of Rose wine and a little piano playing - though not together! Love meeting all kinds of people and enjoy working in care. Unexplained phenomena will always interest me. Am agnostic and always have been, although have dabbled.... Love writing hence the reason this blog was put together. Also have a website about Hypothyroidism for anyone who might be interested in reading some journals from this awful disease go to www.thyroid.scriptmania.com The first fiction novel is in the process. My daughters' encouragement to go and write after describing a weird dream to her! A big thank you to everybody who helped inspired the prose over the years, which does not mean to say, I liked them all! Son, Joseph is very talented and mixes music up in the loft with all the technology he's using...best not interfere. Proud mum, he's hoping people will listen and out there on itunes and YouTube. Him and Dave Richie, put their thoughts and ideas and I throw some poems or lyrics for songs his way now and again. Thank you for using Control Freak and that brilliant Reggae song (it's so rude!) The song about my Teddy bear and other serious, darker lyrics. Amazing songs they have been turned into. Snorkeling in warm water and have experienced one scuba dive (maybe the last...) but that was amazing and frightening at the same time. |
| Favorite movies | I don't really watch films, but remember the realy scary ones! Loved Victoria Wood and kicked myself for not booking up to see her a few years ago and think Catherine Tate is the best thing since sliced bread! Henning Wehn makes me laugh before he says anything. Don't see enough of Tim Minchin and enjoy the dark comedy of 'Inside number 9' (Nothing to do with the fact, that I quite like Steve Pemberton... I guess my favourite Love story would have to be Shrek 1 and Love Actually is so watchable and The Green mile for something a little different. |
| Favorite music | Oh definitely light rock through the decades. Got a bit of a crush on James Dean Bradfield, love the dark sounds from Depeche Mode and the best group in the world The Electric light orchestra! So glad to have seen Jeff Lynne's ELO on two occasions. I also like the sounds from Simon and Garfunkel or anything that is deliciously harmonic and tuneful. Mike and the Mechanics, Toto, the Lightning seeds (From a small intimate venue to something much bigger after Three Lions!) Depeche Mode, James Blunt are just some of the live bands I've seen. Have a huge collection of music over the decades, kept my vinyl and still collecting C.D.s hoping my ipod never goes wrong. I think the 80's were a favourite though but worked in a record shop for a few years would bound to leave an impact. Love the dark sounding stuff from Robert Smith and enjoyed seeing the Cure at the 02 a few years ago. Big listener to Radio Caroline shamefully only 'discovered' in 2008 and those talented DJ's play fantastic classic stuff, some I've never heard before. Occasionally tune into radio X or Absolute to catch up with the latest sounds from time to time as they play the kind of music I enjoy and keeps me up to date with certain groups. |
| Favorite books | Sydney Sheldon, Steven King, anything spooky or thrilling! Ken Follet, Lynda la plante are brilliant reads. |
