| Introduction | Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1980, at the age of 16. In 2006 I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and due to the sheer exhaustion, chronic, debilitating migraines and frequent hospitalizations I was forced into an early retirement at the age of 41. Since then I've also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Sjogrens. All of these auto immune diseases are commonly referred to as "Invisible illnesses" as there are no outward or "visible" symptoms making it difficult for others to understand what those of us who struggle with these chronic illnesses go through every day. |
