| Introduction | Born and raised on the east side of Baltimore, Maryland in a steelworker dominated neighborhood, Matt Russo has worked half his adult life as first a semi-skilled factory hand and later in the metal working industries as machinist and steelworker, before arriving at a considerably more privileged labor with a newer machine, the computer. Active in the revolutionary socialist movement from the early 1980's until the mid-1990's, Matt was also a staff writer producing both specifically political articles as well as book and theater reviews and interviews for the San Francisco based Culture Concrete magazine and, later, San Francisco Frontlines, for which he was the first managing editor. Matt currently resides in the Baltimore of the West Coast, Oakland, California. |
