| Introduction | I like to think of myself as an eclectic guy with a lot of contradictory aspects. I grew up in a great small town in the mid-west. I went to the Naval Academy and was in the Navy (Submarines) for eight years. I worked in the Nuclear Industry for ten years and then in high technology for nearly twenty. I consider my politics to be center-left and I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over thirty years. I've traveled extensively, mostly to Europe and consider myself fairly worldly. Mostly I'm passionate about our country and it's future. I believe we lead the world in education and innovation and provide greater opportunity than any society in history. I believe in the United States as a nation of immigrants providing opportunity to all. Mostly I believe we have a responsibility to continue to be leaders by example to the rest of the world. |

| Favorite movies | "Dr. Zhivago", "2001 - A Space Odyssey", The whole "Star Wars" Series, and anything from Pixar...I'm a homey. Especially since they stuck Oakland's favorite Ice Cream place..."Fenton's" into "Up". |
| Favorite music | Eric Clapton, Roy Orbison, Neil Young, 60's and 70's Rock and Roll, Classical especially Mozart, Strauss, Wagner and Tchaikovsky, Show Tunes especially Andrew Lloyd Weber. |
| Favorite books | Am currently into Biography; just finished with Alexander Hamilton, Andrew Jackson, Lincoln and FDR. |
