Introduction | We live in Washington State. We had our first child, Beau on May 27, 2009.
We had many ups and downs throughout the pregnancy until May 15, 2009 when things started going wrong. On May 22, I was flown to a larger hospital where I stayed until Beau was born. He was born on May 27, 2009 (at 29 weeks) by emergency c-section due to placenta previa. He weighed 3 lbs 3 oz. and was 15 in. long. He was in the NICU for 99 days before he finally came home. He had a fundoplication done and g-tube placed during his stay. He weighed 9 lbs 15 oz at discharge. After his birth, we found out we had an extra special man enter our lives. He was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 (aka Down syndrome). In the spring of 2017 (8 years old), Beau was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is our story about Down syndrome, feeding issues, & every day joys of raising our boys. We had our second son, Bryce, on July 19, 2013 and our third son, Brantley, on November 12, 2015.
