Introduction In 2008, our family made a change of lifestyle from the attractive region of New England to the beautiful Tennessee Valley, nestled between Knoxville and Chattanooga. With a Biology degree discarded, I (Tim) worked in construction building houses and developing industrial and residential land in Massachusetts. Additionally, my wife Charleen and I owned and operated our multi-generational family Inn and Conference Center, while home-educating our two sons. Life was full and frantic. With the cost of living skyrocketing, the food industry lacking integrity, and the strength of the family declining, we decided to adjust our pace of living and focus on family and farming. With many goals in mind, we packed up our belongings and headed south. By the grace of God, we ‘stumbled’ upon a piece of land with 23 acres of wood and pasture, along with a stream, a barn, and an in-ground, salt pool, but no house. In the hot Tennessee summer of 2009, the boys and I framed our own home and now we were able to begin our journey of the farm life.
