Introduction | IT geek who quickly fell in love with GIS and made a career out of it. My first job out of school was for a defense contractor in State College, PA. When the defense industry took a downturn I found a new job at a very small Transportation GIS company that was IBM's worldwide transportation GIS business partner. When that company went out of business, I moved to Lancaster and worked for Advanced Technology Solutions with Ashis and Bruce. What a fantastic learning experience! I joined MapQuest after several years, then moved to Harrisburg and joined Gannett Fleming/GeoDecisions. After 5 years at GeoDecisions and working onsite at PennDOT for three years, I became the first Geospatial Coordinator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I was promoted to Deputy State CIO and left the Office of Administration to be the CIO at PA Department of Environmental Protection. Since 2011 I have worked for Michael Baker, and have the opportunity to work on Transportation GIS projects for PennDOT and the PA Turnpike, plus another project for the City of Charleston, WV. Kim and I have been happily married for 26 years (1987) and she is my rock! |
