About me

Gender Female
Location Coarsegold, California
Introduction I am a single white female searching for signs of intelligent life in the universe, so if you're stupid, don't bother...lol. Like most people, I like to hang out and have a good time I am what you would call sociable. I am currently attending Fresno State and hope to become and English/Drama high school teacher before I die because it feels like I will never graduate. An-nee-ways, that's about all I feel like writing, at least about myself that is.
Interests I like pretty much anything having to do with the arts. Drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, writing, costuming...etc. I love nature and the outdoors sometimes it is so beautiful it just stills my heart, stops my limbs, and takes my breath away. So consequentially I like to camp and hike and all that. I love animals and am really good with them. So of course I have pets, an American Bulldog (163 lbs of pure love, answers to the name of Bubba), and cats: Shane, Sasha (whom I raised from a 3 week old kitten), Missy, Junior, Mickey-Blue-Eyes, and our 2 new additions Sid Vicious, and Six-Fingered Stewie.
Favorite Movies I like pretty much anything written or directed by John Hughes (the first National Lampoons Vacation, Ferris Buller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, etc.)or Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob, etc.) I like old movies too usually anything featuring Cary Grant(Arsenic and Old Lace, Bringing up Baby, An Affair to Remember, and any movie in which he was paired with Katharine Hepburn), Jimmy Stewart (Harvey, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Shop Around the Corner), and Audrey Hepburn (Sabrina, Roman Holiday, Funny Face) just to name a few, oh and I also like Shirley Temple stuff just for the whole innocence of it all. Some of my other fave movies are Amalie, À la folie... pas du tout, Jean de Florette, It Came from the Sea, It Happened one Night, Everafter, Clueless, The Fifth Element, My Cousin Vinny (like buddah), Mr. Mom, The Great Outdoors, One Crazy Summer, A Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, Summer Rental. As you can see I will watch pretty much any good movie regardless of what language it is in or if it is black and white or really old. I simply love movies.
Favorite Music Nick Drake, Sinatra, Elvis, Harry Connick Jr., Billy Holiday, Otis Redding, Van Morrison, The Ramones, The Donnas, Letters to Cleo, Rufus Wainwright, Rammstein (German language only), Metallica, GnR, Franz Ferdinand, The Doors, The Beatles, The Monkeys, Lynnard Skynnard, Janice Joplin, Bach, Chopin, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Robbie Williams, The Chieftans, Gaelic Storm, and many more....my collection is about 200 cds, 20 tapes, and about 30 records. New artists to check out Amos Lee, Jenny Lewis/Rilo Kiley, Ray LaMontagne, and Griffin House.
Favorite Books I enjoy reading and almost always have a book on me or several books as the case may be. The Harry Potter series is one of my faves, also The Earth Children Series, Dragonfly in Amber Series, Eragon series, and the Charlie Bone Series. Some of my fave authors beyond the ones who wrote the afforementioned series are Jane Green, Jennifer Weiner, Sophie Kinsella, and Wendy Holden. I have a new author that I like which is simliar to Harry Potter in that it deals with magic the book is Septimus Heap;Magyk by Angie Sage. I also like the classics like To Kill a Mockingbird, Shakespheare (Taming of the Shrew, Twelveth Night, Titus Andronicus, Romeo and Juliet...I have his collected works and there is so much more I like but I will stop here)...I am trying to read the classics but have taken a break for a bit cause of all the reading required for my English Major, but I totally want to make it through the 100 best books of all time and so far I have read bits of Moby Dick (hard to understand due to outdated language), Swan's Way (tried to get into it but finally gave up by the fourth chapter), Anna Kareina (read all of it, very sad ending and kinda preachy), War and Peace (interesting but focused too much on the war and not so much on the peace), The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (loved it!), The Fountainhead (Ayn Rand is the queen of rants!! this one was pretty damn good)...I could go on for quite a bit more but I think you get the point. My brain is way too curious and thristy for knowledge which is actually kind of torturous sometimes...if I could only get it to shut off sometimes.
