In “Winter Night,” he writes, / As I turn into my drive / I see a woman standing aside / She stands with her arms at her side / Dressed in solid black / Low cut neck, in a V to her breasts / Sleeves cover her hands / But split up past the wrists / Her long dark hair covers her shoulders / … Often infused with raw emotion, the poems in Out of My Mind not only share Kidd’s inner thoughts and ideas, but also demonstrate that positive outcomes can emerge from negative situations
