| Introduction | I have had a relationship with art since I was old enough to "color". It started seriously with a correspondence course in commercial art in junior high school, developed into a major field of study at UND and became a teaching career which lasted for twenty-one years. Oil painting, printmaking, drawing, and ceramics were major parts of that experience. Since retiring in 2001, watercolor has been my medium of choice. I am a member of the River Forks Watercolor Society and have participated in exhibits at the East Grand Forks Public Library, the Empire Arts Center, Grand Forks City Hall, Mayville State University, Scotts Music Store in conjunction with the Art and Wine walk in 2008, as well as exhibits in Fertile and Climax sponsored by the Northwest Regional Arts Council. I was recently invited to submit three paintings for an exhibit in Fosston. I have explored a variety of subjects in watercolor and watercolor collage, ranging from abstract compositions to figure studies. My most recent focus is landscape. |
