| Introduction | After years of organizing as a feminist and dreaming of being a primary health care provider for working people, my dreams are finally coming true. I am in the midst of midwifery school in El Paso Texas. I believe that midwifery is one answer to the interlocking systems of oppression we face every day: capitalism, cis-heteropatriarchy, white supremacy, ableism and State repression. From the witch hunts, to Emma Goldman, to the Black granny midwives and the parteras of now occupied Mexico, midwives have been on the front lines of the movement for liberation.
